Autumn Horticultural Fair – Flora Olomouc

Velka pardubicka Steeplechase

The 118th running of the famous steeplechase starts on Sunday at 11:00 hrs. The oldest and most difficult cross-country steeplechase in continental Europe! The course is 6900 metres long and will be run by 68 horses from the Czech Republic, Great Britain, Slovakia, Ireland, France and Italy. The only horse to have won the race 4 times in a row is the phenomenal Zeleznik and the most successful jockey in the history of the Velka pardubicka is a Czech Josef Vana. Come to enjoy the most popular fest of horse-racing fans in the Czech Republic. Tickets available on pre-sale.

The 4th year of the international festival of music films. For 2008 more than 120 films will be shown from countries worldwide. The festival expects international guests. International Author's Documentary Films Festival

The prestigious and unique, the only festival of its kind in Europe in its 12th year. Selected documentaries from the Czech Republic, Central Europe and the rest of the world. During the festival Jihlava is not only the place where the films are screened but also a lively centre for meetings and public discussions. Conversations and talks after the screenings, discussions in the foyers of the theatres and in the streets, articles in the festival catalogue and in the festival daily bulletin. For those with tired eyes, there are readings, concerts and theatre performances held at the time of the festival’s duration.
