Castle Landstejn, Southern Bohemia

The sizeable castle Landstejn with a Romanesque base from the early 13th century, was later enlarged in the Late Gothic and Renaissance styles. It was burnt down in 1771 and deserted. The castle Landstejn’s interior exposition reveals the history of the Landstejn castle and its archaeological finds, including a collection of mediaeval weapons. You can admire a fortified castle complex, and a Roman chapel. From the top of the tower there is a magnificent view of the national park “Czech Canada“.
